Sabelle is a radiant young singer-songwriter residing in Monterey Bay. With a captivatingly gentle voice that effortlessly pulls you into her world, she’s enchanted audiences across the Peninsula with her soulful performances. Her music is a heartfelt homage to the golden era of the 1960s and 70s while also taking inspiration from Iris Dement’s timeless folk melodies and John Mayer’s lyrical pop tracks. Last November marked a milestone in her musical journey as she unveiled her debut single, “Tainted,” on Spotify, offering listeners a glimpse into her artistry. Monterey Jazz Regional All-Star Combos
Each Regional All-Star ensemble features talented students from across Monterey County. The ensembles rehearse twice monthly to develop ensemble skills, and in the summer, they perform across Monterey County and far beyond, testing their chops on the bandstand while bringing great jazz music to the community. They have performed at prestigious venues and festivals such as the Tomisato Jazz Festival in Japan, the Vancouver Jazz Festival in British Columbia, San Jose Jazz Fest, Jazz on the Plazz, Forest Theater in Carmel-by-the-Sea, and the Monterey Jazz Festival, among many others.

Trianna is a singer-songwriter out of Santa Cruz, blending smooth R&B vibes with a Pop-Funk edge. Think Erykah Badu meets Amy Winehouse with a fresh twist. Growing up in a family of folk and World music, she brings a unique flavor to everything she touches—soulful, engaging, and always groovy.

Eric Henry Andersen
Set against a cinematic, piano-driven backdrop, Eric Henry Andersen’s soaring tenor and emotionally charged songwriting continue to connect with a rapidly growing global audience. His live performances invite audiences on a captivating musical journey, delivering the same depth and intensity that define his recordings. As co-lead singer-songwriter of The Novelists, he has toured extensively, sharing bills with Train, Five for Fighting, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Allen Stone, Glenn Phillips, and Daryl Stuermer (Genesis/Phil Collins). He previously performed at Folktale Winery as the opening act for Live in the Vines with Thunderstorm Artis.

Kito Rayburn was born in Anthony, NM, and grew up in Monterey, CA, in a musical household that fostered his profound love for the craft. He has played music all of his life, mainly in a support role, as a bassist or a drummer, but started writing his music when the pandemic hit. He draws from his experience playing in other bands and living in the desert and on the coast for his sound, a blend of Indie, Americana, Folk, and Rock. His songs are contemplative and self-reflective, with relatable themes of change and a desire to be better for himself, others, and the world.

Tim Brady
Tim Brady is a singer/songwriter from the Monterey Bay area and leader of the locally award winning Santa Cruz band Cement Ship. The acoustic guitar style, singing tone and original songs from Tim seem to fit a wide array of crowds and genres, but maintains a natural and stripped down approach for the sound. Honest and raw, sweet and smoky, dynamic like the sea. The band’s namesake is taken from local landmark the SS Palo Alto, and the music has been described as ‘Americana Soul’ or ‘Beach Folk’.

Saxophonist Ben Herod is a mainstay of the Monterey music scene. His sound has been described as lyrical and smooth, inventive and emotive. Ben has played with Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Lenny Williams, Buddy Miles, and Peter Erskine, and his playing can be found on multiple albums from local and not-so-local recording artists.

Peter Martin Trio
Peter Barnes Martin is a full-time multi-genre musician from Rochester, New York, based in Monterey, California. His compositions and performances are influenced by jazz, indie folk, and alternative and jazz genres. Peter’s act is characterized by improvisational ability, seasoned experience, and versatility, which he draws from his time touring throughout Michigan and the Carolinas with the Joseph Herbst Sextet and his work as a professional jazz musician in New York City.
In March 2023, Peter self-released his debut album, ‘Anywhere is Home,’ and subsequently promoted it on a 10-date tour from San Diego, California, to Seattle, Washington. In addition to this tour, Peter performs regularly throughout California, with 166 gigs in 2023. In 2024, Peter will release his second project, “The Lake,” as a series of singles from September 2024 to 2025. He looks forward to working with new venues and festivals that are interested in developing artists.

Rory Lynch is a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer in Santa Cruz, CA. He migrated to the West Coast after a stint in NYC, headlining shows at venues like The Bitter End and Pianos. His decision to move inspired a new collection of songs showcasing classic genres like country, jazz, and pop while blending in traditional Americana themes. Rory’s smooth, deep croon harkens back to the first days of Country Folk and fits nicely next to modern artists like Orville Peck and Sturgill Simpson. Recently, he has been recording at Wind River Studios with plans to release his debut full-length album in Spring 2022.

Two Rivers is the confluence of two musicians with diverse styles and backgrounds, creating a lovely and lively blend of vocals and guitar. From inspired original tunes to covering rare gems, Two Rivers is bound to keep you enthralled whenever you hear them. Richard Bryant’s musical career has many highlights, including years of touring as a vocalist with such renowned groups as The Doobie Brothers and The Little River Band. Kyle Kovalik has had a lifelong love affair with the guitar. He was heavily involved in the Northwest music scene as a player and a music industry professional.

Adrea Castiano
Adrea Castiano delivers dark, confessional songs with a singular style and a voice described as sweet and haunting. Her songs have won multiple awards, including “Best Song of The Year” for 2020 and 2021 from The West Coast Songwriters Association and “Best Overall” in the 2019 Songwriters At Play song contest. She has been featured in collaborations with producers worldwide, including KR3TURE, Hokima, and Joaquin Sun. A Santa Cruz, CA native, Adrea resides in Nashville, TN, where she is recording her debut album.

Jesse DeCarlo Funk Trio
Jesse DeCarlo has been a fixture on the Monterey music scene for many years. He has played guitar and bass with well-known local artists, including Dani Paige, Jim Payne, Al James, Minor Williams, Cindy Alexander, and Malinda DeRouen. Al James
Singer, guitarist, and composer Al James hails from Seaside, California. His music has been an integral element of his life, and his rootsy, soulful delivery has an eclectic vibe flavored by influences from Jimi Hendrix to Stevie Wonder. His renditions of others and his compositions have a flair and energy of their own . . . reflective, upbeat and innovative. Al’s vocal stylings and dynamism on stage are infectious in appeal and energy.

RJ is a versatile multi-instrumentalist and producer who seamlessly blends live performance with innovative production techniques. Drawing from over 20 years of musical experience, RJ creates dynamic soundscapes by expertly weaving together saxophone, guitar, keyboards, and vocals through live looping technology. Originally from Buffalo, New York, and now based in Monterey, California, RJ has developed a unique artistic voice that bridges the gap between traditional instrumentation and modern production method.

Magenta Spreen
Magenta Spreen is a musical duo from Central California, made up of husband and wife Kristen Gradwohl and Talmon Owens. Before forming the duo, Kristen got her start performing with founding members of The California Honeydrops and later opened for artists like Larkin Poe, while Talmon shared stages with acts like Mapache and Anthony Green. Their music is shaped by their deep connection to songwriting and singing together, drawing inspiration from artists like Elliott Smith, Neil Young, and Phoebe Bridgers. Their new single, Infinity, holds special meaning for them, as Kristen sang it to Talmon at their wedding.

Greg Freeman
Greg Freeman is a local guitarist and bagpiper. As The Valley Piper, you may have seen him playing bagpipes at Carmel Beach at the end of Ocean Ave as he has been most nights, playing the golden hour leading up to sunset, for the last 6 years. As a solo guitarist and a half of the duet, Ruby Slippers, Greg plays acoustic guitar through a looper. This allows him to layer parts and play solos over his own playing. His style might be called soft rock, acoustic, mellow, and intricate with a finger-picking style of playing. Greg has also been a winemaker in Monterey County for the last 25 years at wineries such as Hahn, Chalone, Cowgirl, and Constellation Brands, although he has retired from winemaking. Greg has lived in Texas, Oregon, Alaska, Santa Fe, NM, New Orleans, and Colorado. Careers in restaurants, cooking, nuclear chemistry labs, travelling African band, commercial salmon fishing, and radio DJ led him to the Central Coast 25 years ago. Greg sits in the Carmel Chamber of Commerce as Past Board Chair and loves music, wine, and being anywhere in or near Carmel and Carmel Valley.
