SF Comedy Competition: Passing the Crown
The laughs don’t stop when comedy royalty takes the stage! Join us for Passing the Crown, where two champions of the legendary San Francisco Comedy Competition co-headline one unforgettable evening!
2024 Champ Frankie Marcos: Originally from San Jose, CA, Frankie is now an international headliner performing across the US, Canada, Australia, the UK, and Asia. Based between the Bay Area and Los Angeles, he’s a regular on Don’t Tell Comedy and Chocolate Sundaes at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood, and has shared the stage with Taylor Tomlinson, Michael Che, Nicole Byer, and more. His festival credits include the New York Comedy Festival, SF Sketchfest, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and Edinburgh Fringe.
2025 Champ Shawn Felipe: Hailing from Honolulu, Hawaii, and now based in San Francisco, Shawn is a versatile entertainer known for his clever, laconic storytelling that resonates with audiences worldwide. He has performed across the globe from the USA to Singapore, Canada, Japan, Korea, and the Middle East, and at colleges, corporate events, U.S. military shows, Norwegian cruises, and comedy tours, including comedian JOKOY’s 2017 tour. Shawn has earned nominations for Best New Artist in the Hawaii Music Awards and Best Take Out Comic in Hawaii, and was named one of the top seven comics at the 36th Annual San Francisco International Comedy Competition. His work has appeared on WorldAsia TV, TFC Channel, Sprint Comedy, Time Network, and National Lampoon’s Comedy Radio, and he has guest-starred on NBC’s Hawaii, national commercials, and The Great Food Truck Race. Fans can also look forward to his upcoming comedy special, Man Baby, on DryBar Comedy.
Hosted by Jalisa Robinson: A stand-up comedian and writer whose comedy is smart, sharp, and hilarious. Jalisa placed third in the 2025 San Francisco International Comedy Competition and was a featured performer at the Netflix Is a Joke Comedy Festival (2024). She has opened for Hannibal Buress and W. Kamau Bell, delivering comedy that’s political without being preachy, personal without being indulgent, and always sharper than the patriarchy’s haircut.
Don’t miss this rare chance to see comedy’s next legends share the stage for one epic night of laughs. Stick around after the show for “one for the road”, where you can meet the acts, take photos, and share a laugh with the champions themselves.
