Drawing from over 20 years of musical experience, RJ creates dynamic soundscapes by expertly weaving together saxophone, guitar, keyboards, and vocals through live looping technology. Originally from Buffalo, New York, and now based in Monterey, California, RJ has developed a unique artistic voice that bridges the gap between traditional instrumentation and modern production method.

Tim Brady

Tim Brady is a singer/songwriter from the Monterey Bay area and leader of the locally award winning Santa Cruz band Cement Ship.  The acoustic guitar style, singing tone and original songs from Tim seem to fit a wide array of crowds and genres, but maintains a natural and stripped down approach for the sound.  Honest and raw, sweet and smoky, dynamic like the sea.  The band’s namesake is taken from local landmark the SS Palo Alto, and the music has been described as ‘Americana Soul’ or ‘Beach Folk’.

Jesse DeCarlo is a Monterey native and has been a fixture on the local music scene for many years. He has played guitar and bass with well-known local artists, including Dani Paige, Jim Payne, Al James, Minor Williams, Malinda DeRouen, and more. Jesse will perform a mix of instrumental jazz and funk with a stellar lineup of local performers.

Rory Lynch is a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer in Santa Cruz, CA. He migrated to the West Coast after a stint in NYC, headlining shows at venues like The Bitter End and Pianos. His decision to move inspired a new collection of songs showcasing classic genres like country, jazz, and pop while blending in traditional Americana themes. Rory’s smooth, deep croon harkens back to the first days of Country Folk and fits nicely next to modern artists like Orville Peck and Sturgill Simpson. Recently, he has been recording at Wind River Studios with plans to release his debut full-length album in Spring 2022.

Kito Rayburn was born in Anthony, NM, and grew up in Monterey, CA, in a musical household that fostered his profound love for the craft. He has played music all of his life, mainly in a support role, as a bassist or a drummer, but started writing his music when the pandemic hit. He draws from his experience playing in other bands and living in the desert and on the coast for his sound, a blend of Indie, Americana, Folk, and Rock. His songs are contemplative and self-reflective, with relatable themes of change and a desire to be better for himself, others, and the world.

Casey Wickstrom is a multi-instrumentalist and live looping artist, vocalist, music producer, writer, and film editor. He sings and plays guitar, lap slide guitar, cigar box guitar, bass, harmonica, and other instruments. His songs have charted on the Apple Music Blues charts, and he has been named one of the Top 100 Unsigned Artists by Music Connection Magazine.

Miranda Perl & Adam Astrup

Miranda Perl, a vocalist and educator from Monterey, California, has performed at prestigious venues like the Monterey Jazz Festival and Herb Alpert’s Vibrato. A graduate of the University of Northern Colorado’s Jazz Studies program, she brings modern, innovative takes on jazz standards and classics. Guitarist and composer Adam Astrup, originally from Minnesota, is a versatile musician in jazz, blues, funk, and pop. After graduating from the same program in 2020, he’s performed with renowned artists at major festivals and released his debut album, *Songs from Before*, in 2024. Both are active performers and educators in Northern California.

Raison d’etre (Thomas Burks & Stephen Pavlik) has been making music together for over a year. They play various musical styles, all based on their combined history. Thomas comes from West Texas, so he leans a little on the countryside, yet he grew up listening to the rock music of the 60s, 70s, and beyond. Stephen was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa., and has been influenced by just about every musical genre, including classical and jazz. Together, they have a very eclectic portfolio of music from other artists and their compositions.

International performer, music educator, conductor, and mentor Paul Contos has toured Japan 23 times, Brazil for 18 years, and multiple tours in Europe, throughout the U.S., Canada, Polynesia, and elsewhere around the globe. With over thirty years in jazz performance, education, and faculty positions at UC Santa Cruz, CA State University Monterey Bay, and Monterey Peninsula College, Paul’s talents and abilities encompass worldwide performance, recording, production, and ensemble conducting.
