(((folkYEAH!))) presents Fruit Bats

May 7 @ 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Join (((folkYEAH!))) on Tuesday, May 7th, in our Wine Garden for an evening with Fruit Bats! The show was originally scheduled at the Henry Miller Library in Big Sur; however, due to the current conditions of Highway 1, we were presented with a wonderful opportunity to host this show in our wine garden. Join us for an evening of incredible music, delicious food, and award-winning wine.

Fruit Bats is an indie-rock band formed in Chicago in 1997. Led by singer-songwriter Eric D. Johnson, the group has released six albums: Echolocation (2001), Mouthfuls (2003), Spelled in Bones (2005), The Ruminant Band (2009), Tripper (2011), and Absolute Loser (2016). After touring with Modest Mouse and The Shins, the band signed with Sub Pop and released Mouthfuls in 2003. The group disbanded in 2013, but Johnson continued making music under EDJ. Fruit Bats reformed in 2015 and signed with Merge Records. They released Gold Past Life (2019) and The Pet Parade (2020). In 2021, Fruit Bats released a full album cover of Smashing Pumpkins’ Siamese Dream. In 2022, they released a double-disc retrospective of their 20-year career titled “Sometimes A Cloud Is Just a Cloud: Slow Growers, Sleeper Hits and Lost Songs.” Learn more about Fruit Bats.
